Running Published Tasks

In Data Integration, only published tasks can be run.

When you publish a task to an application in Data Integration, a task entry is created in the Tasks section of the application details page.

In an application that's created by using an application template, the Tasks section shows the predefined parameterized tasks that can be run.

You run a task manually from the list of tasks in the Tasks section of the Data Integration application. To schedule a task to run automatically on specific days and times, you create a task schedule.

When you run a task, a run entry is created in the Runs section of the application details page and in the Runs section of the published task details page. You can rerun a task from a run entry in either of these Runs sections.

By default in Data Integration, you can have simultaneous or parallel task runs of a task at a time. To disallow concurrent task runs of a task that are initiated manually, select the disable simultaneous execution checkbox when you create the task. See Creating and Managing Tasks.

Note

By default, all tasks that you create and publish to an application in Data Integration are configured to run in the OCI Data Integration service. No other configuration is needed.

For integration tasks, you have the option to run a task in the OCI Data Flow service by updating the task's run configuration. See Using the OCI Data Flow Service to Run a Task.

The following pages describe how to run tasks and the tasks that you can perform after a task is run:

To use schedules and task schedules to automate the running of tasks, see Scheduling Published Tasks to Run.

To unpublish a task so that the task can't be run in the application, see Unpublishing a Task.
