Task Designing
In Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Integration, a task is a design-time resource that specifies a set of actions to perform on data. Create tasks from the Tasks section of a project details or folder details page.
By default, all tasks that you create in Data Integration are configured to run in the OCI Data Integration service. No other configuration is needed to run tasks in Data Integration.
For integration tasks, you have the option to update the run configuration to run the task in the OCI Data Flow service. For prerequisite resources and policies, and how to update a task's run configuration, see Using the OCI Data Flow Service to Run a Task.
See the following pages for the type of task that you want to create, edit or view, and delete:
- Working with Data Loader Tasks: Load diverse data into data lakes and data warehouses
- Working with Integration Tasks: Take a data integration flow design and prepare it for running
- Working with OCI Data Flow Tasks: Run an existing application in OCI Data Flow from within Data Integration
- Working with SQL Tasks: Run custom SQL from within a pipeline
- Working with REST Tasks: Run a REST API endpoint in a pipeline
- Working with Pipeline Tasks: Take a pipeline design and prepare it for running
The following pages describe common management tasks that can be performed with all task types:
The tasks that you have created in a project or folder are listed in the Tasks section of that project or folder. For the actions that can be performed on a task using the Actions menu, see Actions on the Tasks Page.
To run a task, first publish the task to an Application in Data Integration. See Task Publishing.
The following pages describe how to export and import a task:
