Task 3: Link an OCI Account
Learn how to link a new or existing OCI Account to Oracle Database@Google Cloud.
If you purchased the pay as you go offer, use the instructions in Create a New OCI Account for Oracle Database@Google Cloud to link a new OCI account to your Google Cloud account.
If you purchased a private offer, Oracle sends you an email with the subject line "Action Required: Welcome to New Oracle Cloud Service Subscription(s). After you receive the email, you can link an OCI account to your Oracle Database@Google Cloud service. Whether you create a new OCI account or link an existing account depends on your situation. Read about both options in the following sections.
For both offer types, your OCI account is used for the provisioning and management of container databases (CDBs) and pluggable databases (PDBs). Your OCI account also lets Oracle to provide infrastructure and software maintenance updates for your database service.
The Pay as You Go offer requires that you create a new OCI account. You cannot link an existing OCI account when onboarding for the Pay as You Go offer.
Create a New OCI Account for Oracle Database@Google Cloud
Use these instructions if either of the following apply:
- You purchased the pay as you go offer
- You purchased a private offer and don't have an OCI account, or want to create a new OCI account.
To create and link a new OCI account for Oracle Database@Google Cloud, you must have owner or editor permissions for the Google Cloud project.
To complete the steps in this task, you should have already purchased an offer for Oracle Database@Google Cloud in Google Cloud marketplace (either a private offer or a pay as you go offer). Your order should be in the "Active" status.
If you are already on the Oracle Database@Google Cloud product details page, skip to Step 5 in this task.
- Sign in to the Google Cloud console at https://console.cloud.google.com.

In the Google Cloud console search field, search for "Marketplace" and navigate to the Google Cloud Marketplace.

In Marketplace, click Your orders in the left navigation menu to view your Marketplace orders.

Click Oracle Database@Google Cloud in the Product column to navigate to the product details page.

On the page, click Manage on Console.

On the Oracle Database@Google Cloud Overview page, click Create Account.

In the OCI account sign in dialog that opens in a new window, select your customer type, Personal or Business, then provide the following:
- Country
- First and Last Name
- Street address information
- Email address
- Password
- Cloud account name. For information on OCI cloud account names and renaming the account, see Renaming a Tenancy and Cloud Account.
- Home region. Select a region that offers Oracle Database@Google Cloud. See Regional Availability for Oracle Database@Google Cloud for a list of supported regions. Note that the Home Region can't be changed after the account is created. See What is the tenancy home region? for more information.

After filling in the account details, check the box to acknowledge that you understand the OCI home region cannot be changed later, then click Create Cloud Account to continue.

Return to the browser window displaying the Google Cloud console. The console displays a message that says "Please wait for your account linking to become active." The account creation and inking takes a few minutes.
Link an existing OCI account to Oracle Database@Google Cloud
Use the instructions in this section if you purchased a private offer and have an OCI account that you want to link to Oracle Database@Google Cloud.
To create and link a new OCI account for Oracle Database@Google Cloud, you must have owner or editor permissions for the Google Cloud project.
To complete the steps in this task, you should have already purchased a private offer for Oracle Database@Google Cloud in Google Cloud marketplace. Your order should be in the "Active" status.
If you are already on the Oracle Database@Google Cloud product details page, skip to Step 5 in this task.
- Sign in to the Google Cloud console at https://console.cloud.google.com.

Click Oracle Database@Google Cloud in the Product column to navigate to the product details page.
