Azure Subscription

Learn about requirements for the Azure Subscription you plan to use with Oracle Database@Azure.

An Azure environment is a prerequisite for starting with Oracle Database@Azure. Before onboarding Oracle Database@Azure, You must configure your Billing account and Subscription.

  • An Azure billing account is required to manage invoices, payments, and cost tracking with Microsoft.
  • An Azure subscription that represents the active Azure environment.
    • You must select an Azure subscription for purchasing the Oracle Database@Azure services, either through a Private Offer or a Public Offer. This subscription is referred as the primary Azure subscription that handles billing and account management for the Oracle Database@Azure service.
    • You can add more Azure subscriptions to Oracle Database@Azure, provided they use the same billing account as the primary subscription.
    • Private Offer deployments of Oracle Database@Azure supports up to 25 (soft limit) Azure subscriptions within a single Azure billing account.
    • Your Azure bill displays the total cost for Oracle Database@Azure usage under the primary subscription. You can view the usage by Azure subscription using OCI Cost Analysis tool.
  • Microsoft Entra tenant: Each Azure subscription is associated with a Microsoft Entra tenant for managing the access control of the Cloud resources. For Oracle Database@Azure, you can set up the Role-Based Access Control. Optionally, you can also Federate the Entra ID with OCI Identity Domain to simplify the access management.
