Unlocking a Snapshot
Unlock a locked File Storage snapshot to allow deletions (in the case of a delete lock) or updates, moves, and deletions (in the case of a full lock).
You can also override snapshot locks.
Required IAM Policy
To remove locks, in addition to permission to manage the snapshot, you need permissions to manage locks.
To unlock a snapshot, you must have RESOURCE_LOCK_REMOVE permissions.
- Open the navigation menu and select Storage. Under File Storage, select File Systems.
- (Optional) In the List scope section, under Compartment, select a compartment.
- Click the name of the file system that you used to create a snapshot.
- On the file system's details page, under Resources, click Snapshots.
- Click the name of the snapshot that you want to unlock.
- On the snapshot's details page, next to Resource Locking, select Remove.

Run the RemoveSnapshotLock operation to unlock a snapshot.
