HeatWave: Support for Version 9.2.1

  • Services: HeatWave
  • Release Date: February 20, 2025

HeatWave now supports MySQL database 9.2.1. This is the latest Innovation release. It provides security and bug fixes in addition to feature enhancements. You can select version 9.2.1 when creating a new DB system. For existing DB systems, you must manually upgrade them to newer version, such as from version 9.2.0 to 9.2.1.

HeatWave version 9.2.1 (Innovation) supports extending retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) search to include tables containing your own vector embedding, automated zone map construction on non-primary key columns to speed up RAPID query processing, and fast recovery of InnoDB tables loaded into HeatWave cluster when a restart, switchover, or failover has occurred in a high availability DB system. If you are keen to leverage the most recent advancements and enhancements, and stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies, then the Innovation release might be the best fit for you. On the other hand, if your application requires established behavior, the LTS (8.4.x) or Bugfix (8.0.x) releases are more suitable.
