Note

On January 1, 2025, Oracle Linux 7 moved from Premier to Extended Support. Oracle Cloud customers using Oracle Linux are entitled to both Premier Support and Extended Support (when offered). For more information about the Extended Support program, see Oracle Linux Extended Support.

Notable Changes

The following changes are notable in this image update:

  • Includes OS updates for bug fixes and security patches.
  • Includes NVIDIA GPU display driver updates for CVE-2021-1076 and CVE-2021-1077.
  • Enables IPv6 by default.
  • Updates the mysql-release-el7 package to enable the MySQL connectors and tools repositories.

Note that changes to infrastructure such that images depend on can occur outside of the release of a particular image but could impact an image nonetheless. Security and Compliance

Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.

NVIDIA Fabric Manager, CUDA Packages, and CUDNN Library Information

The NVIDIA Fabric Manager, CUDA development packages, and CUDNN runtime library are installed in this image. These packages are available at the following versions:
