Edit Database Connection Details for an Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer

Ops Insights allows you to edit database connection details for an Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer database.

Edit Database Connection Details

To edit the database connection details for an Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer database, locate the database whose connection details require an edit and click on the three dot action menu, then click on Edit Connection Details. This will bring the Edit connection table screen where you can edit the following details:
  • Database details:
    • Database service name
    • Protocol (TCP/TCPS)
    • Port number
  • Credential details:
    • Common database user
    • Database user password
  • Management agent details
    • Compartment
    • Management agent
Note

Only connection details for container and non-container databases can be changed. Pluggable databases cannot be edited directly, connections are made through the container database.

Change a TCPS Cloud Service Database to TCP

To change a TCPS monitored cloud database to a default TCP connection, first disable the database by clicking the three dot action menu for the database you want to edit, and click on Disable Ops Insights. Once disabled click on Edit Connection Details, select TCP as the protocol and update the port number. Once complete re-enable the database.

To change a TCP monitored database to a TCPS connection by clicking the three dot action menu for the database you with to edit, disabling the database by clicking on Disable Ops Insights. Once disabled click on Edit Connection Details, select TCPS as the protocol and update the port number. Once complete re-enable the database.
