Getting a Knowledge Base's Details in Generative AI Agents

  1. On the Knowledge Bases list page, select the knowledge base that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page, see Listing Knowledge Bases.
  2. View the following details in the Knowledge base information tab:
    • Basic information such as the knowledge base OCID, display name, description, compartment OCID
    • Creator
    • Creation date and time
    • The knowledge base type, which is one of the following options:
      • Service managed (Object Storage)

        • Whether hybrid (lexical plus semantic) search is enabled for this knowledge base

        • Size

        • Total ingested files

          If you see a tip icon (i) instead of a number, start a new ingestion job to get the total number of ingested files in KB.

      • OCI OpenSearch

        • Link to the OCI OpenSearch cluster

        • Index name

      • Oracle AI Vector Search

        • Link to the database tools connection

        • Vector search function or procedure name

  3. If the knowledge base type is service managed, view the data source for this knowledge base.
    If you need help with data sources, see Managing Data Sources for Generative AI Agents.
  4. If the knowledge base type is service managed, under Resources select Metadata to get a list of metadata names and types for this knowledge base.
  5. Select the Actions menu (three dots) for each metadata to view the count for each metadata value.
  6. Select the Tags tab to see any tags associated with this knowledge base.
