General
Database Resource Deleted in AWS But Still Exists in OCI
When an Oracle Database@AWS resource (such as an Autonomous Database or Exadata VM Cluster) is deleted from the AWS Console, the deletion appears successful. However, the corresponding resource still exists in OCI. Attempt to delete it from the OCI Console fails, returning one of the error messages listed below.Error:
DeleteAutonomousDatabase operation is blocked for resources deployed at AWS. Please try this operation from AWS or contact support for further assistance. opc-request-id: <OPC_REQUEST_ID>DeleteCloudVmCluster operation is blocked for resources deployed at AWS. Please try this operation from AWS or contact support for further assistance.Authorization failed or requested resource not found
Workaround: You can create a support request and work with support to delete these resources.
Note
Deleting Oracle Database@AWS resources should be performed in AWS Console instead of OCI Console to ensure both environments are in sync. Therefore, it is by design to not allow users to delete (or create) database resources in OCI Console.
